Private Sailing Charter in Tarifa

The private sail is the same sea you'd dream of, but just for your own people. YEMAYA is yours for the whole trip: no other groups, no shared schedule, entirely at your own pace from start to finish.

We cast off from the port of Tarifa and head for Isla de las Palomas, the southernmost point of mainland Europe. We round it from behind and, in just a few metres, you cross from the Mediterranean into the Atlantic, the water changing colour and Africa drawn across the other side of the Strait.

We drop anchor in a sheltered cove by Playa Chica, between the cliffs and crystal-clear water. Out comes the snorkelling gear, you put your own music on the speaker, and we serve the homemade tapas: freshly made Spanish omelette, chistorra, cheese, ham, olives and something cool to drink.

Because it's a private trip, the plan is yours. More time sailing and making the most of the wind? More time swimming, snorkelling and lingering over the tapas? The skipper adjusts the route and the timing to whatever the group feels like that day. At this time of year the Strait puts on a show of its own. It's bluefin tuna season, and from the boat you can see the almadrabas: a traditional fishing art practised in these waters since the time of the Phoenicians and Romans, true labyrinths of nets used to catch the tuna on their migration between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
