Tarifa has something most places don't: the wind, the light, the Strait, that sense of being at the edge of the world. It puts you in a good mood just by arriving.
And yet most couples end up doing the same things: dinner in one of the old town restaurants, a walk along the walls, a drink with a sea view. None of that is bad. But if you've been looking for something genuinely different, the kind of evening that doesn't feel like every other evening, there's one plan that rarely disappoints.
Sunset on the Strait
The evening slot offers changing light over the Strait. Check the departure time for your date when you book.
With suitable wind, YEMAYA sails along the coast with Tarifa behind you and views towards Africa. We also use the engine when manoeuvres or conditions require it. Ask us whether the available departure fits sunset on your date; the timing changes through the year.
Some moments don't need a photograph to stay with you. This is one of them. Bring a camera if you would like to capture the evening.
Private charter for two
For a real couple's experience, the option is to book the whole YEMAYA. €600 for the boat, just the two of you.
No other passengers. No strangers. Tell us what you have in mind before booking. The skipper confirms what can be arranged and chooses the route according to the conditions.
Fernando is discreet. He sails the boat, finds the calmest water of the day and gives you space to enjoy it. Our skippers cover Spanish, English and French; tell us your preferred language when you enquire.
We leave from Tarifa harbour. The trip lasts around 3 hours.
Tapas at anchor
The skipper selects the anchorage according to the conditions. The private booking reserves the boat for your group; it does not reserve the surrounding water.
Homemade tapas and cold drinks are included. Ask us before booking about any dietary requirements or special requests.
No catering. No restaurant setup. Just proper food in a place you can't book a table at.
The swim stop depends on the conditions and the skipper's instructions. Water temperature varies, so ask us about the expected conditions for your date.
For anniversaries, proposals, or just because
You don't need a special occasion for this to be worthwhile.
That said, if you have an anniversary coming up, a proposal you're planning, or you simply want to do something that takes a little explaining (in the best sense), the private charter is what you're looking for. Explain your plans before booking, especially if the moment depends on sunset, decorations, food or a particular route. Confirm any arrangements with us; a private charter includes a skipper and does not guarantee an empty anchorage or a particular view.
